About Us
About UsShane Barach grew up in the Midwest and moved to Los Angeles 30 years ago to work in entertainment. Amidst work in film and television he met his wife in Venice, started a family, has two sons, Quinn 18 and Beckett 14, and became very involved in the volunteer aspect of the westside community, especially in working with non-profit youth organizations. In the last few years, as one son is off at college, and navigating the aging process with family members, he realized the need for support of the elder community and the aging with dignity process in general. Which brought about the partnership with Aroldo and the idea to start Elder Buddy: Senior Advocacy & Transitional Services to continue to give back to our Westside community.Aroldo De Leon has lived on the Westside since 1994, graduating from UCLA with a degree in psychology before building and operating multiple local businesses since 2004. A father to a high school sophomore, he has remained deeply rooted in the area through community involvement, youth programs, and close-knit neighborhood connections. Having been raised by his grandmother and later assisting his mother with her ongoing care and daily coordination throughout the years, he understands firsthand the dedication and hands-on effort required to support aging loved ones. That personal perspective, along with his relationships with elderly neighbors across the community, inspired the partnership with Shane to create Elder Buddy and provide compassionate, practical advocacy for Westside seniors and their families.
